Last night we attended the GUESS launch party for their new Festival Collection, bringing back nostalgic designs and pairing it with 2013 spring fashion trends. The event was at their high-ceilinged, two-storey GUESS store on Queen Street West in Toronto.
Approaching the glass branded GUESS building on busy Queen Street West, the transparent doors opened to a wide and tall space with white coloured walls and floors refocused your eyes to look towards the sky-patterned backgrounds and brightly coloured clothing. We were greeted and grabbed the first GUESS branded lemonade we could find. Have to stay hydrated, there was a lot of mingling to do.
The event brought a different, fashionable and colour-wearing crowd compared to the last GC Smart Luxury Event from last week. You could find yourself talking fashion and conversing with everyone from magazine editors, Shoe and Bag …
Last night we were cordially invited to attend Gc’s Moment of Smart Luxury event at the beautiful TIFF Bell Lightbox, located in downtown Toronto on the sixth floor looking down to the bustling night life of King Street West.
Some new and marketed GC Swiss Made Timepieces were being showcased as guests filled the space, surrounded by watches, food, wine, and more to keep them entertained and mingling.
As soon as the elevators doors opened, people flooded the sixth floor Malaparte entrance to get their coats checked, get a quick picture in front of the Gc wall and it as runway walk down the hall.
Malaparte served as a nice branded entrance to the high-ceilinged room. To the left was the bar with the ceiling sloping nicely down to the bar, while to the right, the Dj was spinning some great music. The lighting …
That one beautiful day where you and your better half say, ‘I do’ in front of your close loved ones. That one day that maybe you or your loved one plans out for years before, all up to that moment that you will never forget for the rest of your life.
A wedding is an all-out decorative event that has to be up to a standard of perfection. The ‘big day’ has the opinions, help and planning of many experts and family members to make sure the groom and bride get the perfect day and a great start to their lives together.
To plan such a big event, you need a venue to match the level of detail that you and your family expect, and for that level of treatment, you need the Trump.
The Trump Toronto had their Trump Wedding Showcase on …
“All big things come from small beginnings”.
A quote that rang through the large two storey room as hundreds gathered for the first annual Converge Toronto Gala at the Windsor Arms Hotel last Friday.
The ConvergeTO event was hosted and presented by Madflower Creative Group and Omega Group, and showcased a great mix of two events, the exclusive Showcase Panel followed up by a well-dressed, networking gala.
The First Impressions
When walking into The Windsor Arms Hotel, it had a nice charm, a grace to it, and even though it was early in the night, you knew that the event was going to be incorporating design, class and style. The high ceilings, surrounding balconies and chandeliers with dimmed lights overhead provided a perfect background to direct your eyes to sharply dressed people filling the lobby.
Our coats were taken, wristbands given and we were asked to take our seats. …
When was the last time you relaxed? Like really relaxed?
When living in a busy downtown city like Toronto, you are always on your cell phone, have calls to make, have people to get back to, and everything always have an aspect of urgency for everything.
But what if you don’t have time to go on a week long vacation to a different country and you want to escape. What happens when you want to have a vacation in the big city?
Going to the spa should be in relaxing experience. It should be a place where you don’t have cell phones buzzing, standard iPhone ringtones amplified as you take them out of your pocket or purse, it should be a place to just focus on one thing, and one thing only, being relaxed.
Right in the heart of Bay and Bloor, Sitamaa aims to …
Last night we went to Muzik in Toronto to experience the new Grey Goose Lounge. The event seemed completely opposite than the Grey Goose Cherry Noir event, but the different vibe was a nice change!
Muzik is a massive. The venue was able to fit more than enough people and brought lots of different personalities from the world of television, blogging, fashion, and entertainment.
The event started at 6pm with people coming later after probably ditching their after-work attire. For the people who just had time to change clothes, Grey Goose and Muzik had a hair styling salon situated from one of the bars that made sure everyone going into the salon looked great coming out.
The beautiful mix of long, draping curtains from the ceiling and stacked bottles of Grey Goose brought style to specific areas, while attendees lounged on bright white (comfortable) …
The Canadian International Auto Show is a way for carmakers to reveal their latest and greatest designs to anxious automotive enthusiasts for an entire week. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre holds everything in place as thousands of fans and new visitors hit the display floors.
Each display seemed to be more elaborate than the last, with huge, overhanging branded displays filling the floor space and brought to new heights. In some cases it was a battle for the biggest display!
A lot of people took notice to the the deep red coloured SRT Viper, which appeared on the very first episode of Top Gear, kicking off their 19th season. There were many other notables that formed a small crowd around them, including the beautiful Lexus LF-LC, the Gold Plated Mercedes-Benz G Class SUV, as well as, the 2014 Hyundai HCD-14 Concept, and definitely the …
Have you ever felt attached or drawn to a colour and you don’t know why?
When it comes to branding, logo design and colours are key. Colours make your brand more recognizable and more lively. Our brand colours are black and white, with the orange as a secondary colour.
When the magazine started, it was silver, and we didn’t it find it to be the best colour. There wasn’t enough personality to it, there wasn’t enough edge.
So when we went through the development of LXRY and rebrand of the logo, we wanted a strong colour. Something that provided a recognizable flare but also provided an approachable feel and edge. So, we went with orange!
We didn’t want to over-intensify our brand with a strong red, but we found blue to be too soft. We wanted something like a sports car, we wanted something …
Style is timeless. Think of the little black dress or the classic suit and tie for men, it’s always in style. There are a lot of different fashions that come and go, but some stay as fresh as the day when they first came out.
It’s all in how you wear it and style yourself, it could be a combination of new and vintage, bright and subtle, with different patterns and textures that develop your own personal style.
Last night we went to BoutiqueMonique‘s Launch Party and we were exposed to all sorts of different vintage clothes from well-known classic brands. We had conversations about fashion and vintage clothing and judging from the people wearing these pieces, they all had this aspect of pride, showing off what they had purchased in previous visits to the store.
The previous customers of the store had a …
