Casio G-Shock Celebrates 35 Years In Tough Fashion Watches

After more than 100 million units shipped, Casio’s G-Shock celebrates it’s astounding 35 years in business.

35 years is longer than some luxury watchmakers, so seeing this company brave the changing climate of fashion, culture, and society is quite the achievement.

G-Shock watches, in my opinion, have always been associated with streetwear. The colours, the toughness of the watch, and the collaborations over the years and the partnerships have all allowed people of all sports, states, and styles to enjoy G-Shock watches.

G-Shock has gone global, attracting pro golfers, ambassadors and fashion-forward thinkers of every sense to the brand. Even Canadian, mega-Youtuber, Lewis Hilsenteger from Unbox Therapy, rocks a G-Shock in his videos constantly.

We celebrated with G-Shock in Toronto at Adelaide Hall with notable and stylish people filling the room. They had great sushi there, great selection of beers and display cases filled with their newest collection pieces. Even Canadian brand, Livestock, was there with their own collaboration piece, pictured below.

The Bottom Line

With all of the collaborations with some of the cultural heavyweights in the world, mixed with athletes and just lifestyle designers, we congratulate G-Shock on 35 years in business. Looking forward to seeing what other models, collaborations and products they bring out. Who knows, maybe an LXRY collaboration would be in the works someday!
