SAVVY! Brings Fashion Obsession To The Spoke Club
It’s Toronto Fashion Week, where many, if not all fashionistas in the Toronto area gather, take notes, pick up on what’s next in fashion trends and mingle with some of Canada’s top fashion crowd.
Many of those representatives are fashion obsessed, spending hours designing mannequins, reading blogs, and sketching down ideas to make their own runway show. For many self-made stylists fashion week is a chance to doll up, buy new clothes, get noticed and just be scene at some of the trendiest fashion shows. For both groups, fashion can be much more than a passion, it can also be an obsession.
Last night we attended the Fashion Obsession event presented by SAVVY! The event took place at the member’s only Spoke Club on King Street West and brought together fashionable people, brands and talent.
As soon as we continued through the elevator doors and down the stairs, the space was turned into a runway show with anticipated SAVVY! members and guests planted in their seats waiting for the entertainment to arrive.
As wine and other mixed drinks filled the glasses of many, Diia, a Toronto based singer, introduced the night and set the tone in a black dress and extenuated red lipstick to start the show. And she did a beautiful job.
First up with Masha, with a mix of dresses and accented with bright colours and patterns.
Brose was second on the docket, with a mix of wearable business mixed with long flowing designs that make a statement when you heel-toe the streets. They are great for both business and casual.
Sentaler was next, bringing in more sophisticated coat designs for mysterious, yet intriguing looks. Each coat was different in it’s own way, whether it was the cut, shape or colour.
All About Maggie brought both soulful singing mixed with timely stops and starts with the acoustic guitar to entertain the crowd before the headline designer brought the house down.
Last but not least, Pat McDonagh closed the night with beautiful dresses really showing a nice variety of style that the models really felt confident in.
All of the hair and makeup was provided and styled by The Davenport Salon and Bourjois Paris.
The Bottom Line
Overall, it was a great night, great people around, and a nice variety of clothing. The music helped entertain the crowd and keep the interest at the same time giving the models their time to get ready for their next look. Both Diia and All About Maggie were great to talk and listen to, and the designers and models all left the show feeling beautiful and confident.
