Porsche Experience Centre Toronto — Canada’s first-ever driving playground built by a luxury automaker.
Located 40 kilometres east of the CN Tower, nestled in Pickering’s wide-open potential, this new facility isn’t just a track. It’s a full-throttle celebration of what it means to be behind the wheel of something exceptional.
A Holistic Automotive Experience That Showcases A Porsche’s Vast Capabilities
The Porsche Driving Experience Toronto is a curated dose of mechanical adrenaline.
A 2-kilometre handling circuit, modelled after legendary race circuits like the Nürburgring Carousel, Silverstone’s Maggots and Becketts and Laguna Seca’s famous corkscrew, offers more than just corners, it offers an all-in-one driving experience to see how a Porsche can handle itself.
Sessions start at $850 for 90-minute, instructor-led driving experiences—and if you just bought a Porsche in Canada after January 1, 2025? You get one of the driving experience sessions free.
My Morning At The Porsche Experience Centre Toronto
My day started early, where I arrived and was greeted by the friendly staff on-site. The brand new building showcases modern design and nicely laid out dedicated areas for all aspects of the experience.
The Porsche Experience Centre Toronto, showcased so many different facets of the world of Porsche. Starting off with a playful LEGO display just off to the right when you come in showcasing a photo opportunity and some of their LEGO models for their 911, which has become popular with adults for home decor on socials.
If you walked a little further, you would hit a glass door leading you to a room full of racing simulators. Perfect to practice some racing lines before hitting the track.
Next is the high-ceilinged foyer that acts as a meeting and social area for presentation, safety briefings and their branded Carrera Café which is perfect for an artisanal coffee-fueled start to the morning ahead. This included branded lattes with the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto logo on them, how cool.
The Porsche Lifestyle Shop curates everything from motorsport jackets, clothing, watches, hats, Canadian branded sweaters to 1:43 scale model cars to even Porsche branded bikes.
After providing a safety debrief, we were ready to pair up with our driving instructors for the day and went down to track level.
The Porsche Experience Centre Toronto’s Driving Facilities
Usually when you get to driving experience, other brands typically use the lay of the land to craft a driving experience, like pylons in parking lot areas to simulate a race track driving experience. However, Porsche took it to another level.
The Wet Driving Circle
After meeting my dedicated driving instructor for the morning, he had me adjust my seating position in the brand new Porsche 911 t-hybrid and instructed me on where to go in the facility.
First, we went to this polished concrete round circle track that was lined with sprinklers. This sprinkler system would be used to simulate the under and oversteer capabilities of the Porsche models and how to handle drifts. I was very impressed with how the Porsche 911 handled the drifts and the corrections using it’s Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system. If the PSM was fully activated, it really assisted in correcting low grip drifts and fish tailing. You felt more and more control as you attempted more drifts, attempting them at higher speeds with how great the system was handling the corrections.
It just goes to show just driving these cars around Toronto and maybe some open roads north is just 1/10th of what the car is actually capable of. The Wet Driving Circle definitely made me feel more confident with the car, especially knowing the car’s boundaries.
The Drifting Race Track
To take the drifting skills a step further, the driving instructor took us over to this polished concrete circuit for us to test what I have learned on the Wet Circle Track and onto something that is more demanding and needs more control. The circuit itself rewards those that can control drifts that you can chain together through multiple corners. Once you have a few corners connected, you feel so full of joy with the car and makes you want to try to drift the whole circuit.
This is where the dedicated driving instructors really know their stuff, with the instructor right beside me it was like having a rally driver guiding you through every turn. From the outside, it looks wild and thrilling, from the inside with the instructor, it feels fun and controlled. One of my favourite aspects of the facility.
Dedicated Area for Slalom and Launch Control
This is where you can really get a sense for the acceleration and handling of the Porsche lineup. From the Porsche’s Launch Control that puts you back in your seat to the brakes being fired up when you get past your target line, you really get a sense for how agile and proper the power delivery is for these new Porsche models.
The handling through the cones was also very impressive because you really can tell just how well the weight shifts when you are taking it to the extremes.
The Race Track
This is where you put it all together.
Everything you have learned about the speed, the weight transfer, handling, and cornering extremes, it all gets tested on the track.
This is where you live out your best moments in a sports car. All the races you have watched, all the circuits you have grown up loving, it all comes together here.
I have been to some so-called tracks before where you don’t get a sense for all aspects of a racing experience. They might have the straight, maybe a few corners or makeshift corners, but nothing that tests the car fully. At the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto, you have it all. You have straights, low, medium, high-speed and even banked corners to test all aspects of the car.
As soon as you do one lap, you will want to continue that process until you are told to come in and even then, you will still want to reluctantly stay out.
A Sustainable Supercar Sanctuary
Sustainability and speed might sound like a strange friendship, but at Porsche Experience Centre Toronto, they place very nice together.
The main building is powered in part by photovoltaic roof panels and kept temperate with geothermal heating and cooling. Exterior walls are dressed in Quebec-sourced wood lamellas, and a local sculpture greets guests at the entrance.
This is the first Porsche Experience Centre in the world to feature an urban concept, designed not as an escape from the city—but as an evolution of it.
