Review: Sennheiser’s Momentum 3 Wireless Bluetooth Headphones
Looking for a set of premium Bluetooth headphones that are both dynamic, yet versatile for all sorts of tasks? You may want to reach for the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless Headphones.
The Sennheiser Momentum 3 Headphones are everything I wanted them to be, especially when it comes to traveling, working, relaxing, and enjoying my favourite playlists on-the-go.
The Headphone Design
With the Momentum 3 Wireless headphones, you have a pair of headphones that are built with upscale materials to provide that great quality build.
The leather and stitching give these headphones a luxurious feel, while the metal materials going down either side that connects to the main cups bring a modern and timeless look.
If kept in good condition, I can see these headphones providing a lot of valuable listening over the next few years. Especially if they are kept in the circular case (pictured below).
The Momentum 3 headphones are present with lots of physical buttons on them for adjustments, volume, answering phone calls, and more. They might be more of use to the people who are looking for more of a tactile experience instead of knobs turning, earbuds apps, etc.
Here are the instructions on a sticker that you get for the physical buttons when you first unbox the headphones (pictured below). I can tell you firsthand that you get used to them very quickly. Additionally, a lot of the information is displayed on the app, like battery life, so you never really have to guess how much charge is left.
The Sound Quality
After adjusting the bass on your earbuds app through the Sennheiser Smart Control App, you are able to really experience high-quality sound.
The ear cups I find don’t add a lot of pressure inwards towards your head, are very insulated, and provide an excellent sound experience.
Truthfully, they have turned into my go-to headphones for work at this moment.
I find them comfortable enough and I love the ‘fold to turn off’ feature. Extremely handy for interruptions, meetings, and changes of the workflow.
At the time of this article, I have the iPhone 11 Pro and the Bluetooth 5.0 did not have any issues to report with the connectivity after trying it very constantly for the last week.
The one thing I will say though, when you connect the headphones with the earbuds app when you are first setting it up, you will find you need some time to update the device.
The Technical Features
There are a lot of features for the Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless Headphones to choose from that bring a lot of flexibility with wearing them in different environments.
When I put them on if I am working on a video or looking to focus on work with some light music, it really is immersive and helps you get in the zone, and stay in the zone for much longer.
Although, if you find yourself listening to your music and your favourite song comes on, you will definitely be distracted by the amazing quality of sound you get from these headphones.
In part for being such a good working headphone is their Active Noise Cancelation feature. I find the Momentum 3 headphones already do a great job of isolating the sound from the ear cups, but they go a step further with the technology built-in which allows them to improve that experience even more.
The Transparent Hearing feature I find allows me to switch back and forth, not having to take off my headphones when answering to the life and obligations around me.
I downloaded the Sennheiser Smart Control App, which allowed me to adjust the sound and features even more. I particularly liked the ability to change the levels of the built-in equalizer from the bass, mid-tones, and treble instead of having preset themes. Speaking of presets, you can create your own presets as well with your level choices. The app also presents three noise-canceling modes for you to change even more.
The smart TILE technology that’s integrated with the Sennheiser Momentum 3 headphones allows you to locate your headphones so you don’t miss out on the headphones or the sound.
Things to consider, if you wear glasses while you work, you might find yourself getting a bit of pressure, which may be uncomfortable for long sit sessions. I wear glasses when I work, but the arms on my glasses are fairly thin, but something to keep in mind.
The Bottom Line
When it comes to a set of wireless headphones, I always aim to have a set of headphones that are flexible in different working, active, and life situations. Ones that are easy to manage, connect with my devices, or can be hardwired in, even if the battery is low. Since I have acquired the Sennheiser Momentum 3 headphones, truthfully, I haven’t really wanted to take them off. I use them all the time for working now and just having that amazing quality sound so flexible in usage, which makes it so easy to enjoy. For the functionality, the sound quality, the easy fold-and-turn-off feature, the sound features with Active Noise Cancelation and Transparent Hearing, make these our favourite headphones of the year that we have tried. Highly recommended.
