Spend A Few Relaxing Days Just Outside Whistler Village at Nita Lake Lodge

The vastness of Whistler…but the comforts of close-by, out-of-the-village chalet living. Sounds like a winter warrior’s dream, right? Well, it is and it’s closer than you think. If you are an international traveler or someone looking for a great spot to enjoy a few days amongst beautiful scenery, read on to learn about Nita Lake Lodge.

The dual landscapes of both summer and winter colliding, the different levels of elevation and the sheer beauty of tall trees, mountains and snow blanket the scenic destination of Whistler. Whistler is where the world’s best come to ski in Canada, so there needs to be brilliant lodging to complement this experience. Luckily, we found a great spot that would add to the whole Whistler/Blackcomb experience.

Getting to Whistler can be accomplished in many different ways. Convincing your friends to drive up for a day trip, taking a shuttle from the city or airport or renting a luxury car and heading up that way can all be great ways of heading up north.

Enter The Nita Lake Lodge

Nita Lake Lodge is nestled just outside Whistler, with a short (and complimentary) shuttle ride provided at the guests’ heart’s content. The beautiful design of this building is met with an even better surrounding, Nita Lake. It’s one of the only hotels around that have a water view (that isn’t a swimming pool).

The suites themselves are refreshingly oversized, giving you and your traveling companions plenty of room to relax. Even the 1-bedroom suite has two full rooms. The room framed a beautiful visual from the balcony of Nita Lake Lodge with the beautiful mountains located very locally in the background. We happily stayed on the balcony longer than usual as we took one of the more serene views we have ever seen from a hotel room.

After a day of skiing, hiking, mountain-biking or even canoeing, the hotel houses a beautiful full-service spa that is perfect for any après-activity and to ease any aches and pains from attempting to get exciting footage from your GoPro and overdoing it.

The Bottom Line

Nita Lake Lodge is classic whistler hospitality. The oversized rooms and views provide a chalet feeling and are a nice relaxing place to be. I like that it’s located just a bit out of Whistler Village, that way you can enjoy the village at your own speed. I find you can appreciate Whistler Village a lot more from a distance. It’s like living outside of the city where it’s quiet and peaceful, and heading into the city when you want some lively excitement. Best of both worlds.
