The Fairmont Royal York Hotel Revitalizes Their Iconic Library Bar
There are few longstanding bars that I enjoy going to more than the iconic Library Bar at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
It’s a mix of a few different aesthetics, which keeps it interesting.
Upscale bar, a library aesthetic that makes it almost feel collegiate and rounded out with funky furniture that brings in different time periods together all at once.
A perfect example, I was sitting amongst patterned tile flooring, dark wood textures across a punchy, comfortable royal blue wraparound couch.
I am glad that they kept the darker asethetic as well before it was renovated, it was one of my favourite homely charms about the bar.
The Library Bar is a perfect spot for those who are indecisive about how they want to spend the night and where they want to go. You either start the night here or end the night here.
On a non-media preview night, you can enjoy great and deep conversations with people you are curious about over sophisticated drinks, small bites and plenty of atmosphere to talk about.
I tried one of the featured drinks on the menu, the Secretariat, and it was a nice cocktail version of an Old Fashioned in more of a party glass instead of your normal arctic, heavy-bottomed glass.
The Bottom Line
If you are looking for a great bar before or after dinner, before sporting events, after sporting events, waiting for a loved one to arrive at Union Station or to enjoy a place for a catch-all, social atmosphere then enjoy the Library Bar at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.
For more information about the Library Bar, be sure to visit their website. Be sure to book ahead of birthdays, events, New Years’ Eve as well.
