Samsung Galaxy S2

Price: $599.95

The Galaxy S2 by Samsung is one of the most innovative phones on the market right now. When Samsung describes it as ‘Vivid. Fast. Slim’, they are most definitely right. The Galaxy S2 super-phone boasts a dual-core processor and supports 4G, meaning the phone’s web browsing is very quick and nimble. It has a 4.3″ AMOLED screen which is full of vivid colour and a display you can use in both bright and dark lit situations very easily.

Samsung has always competed with Apple, with its iPad and iPhone releases, and this is no different. It supports the 2.3 Gingerbread Google Android OS which is the latest in Google-powered mobile phones. The Galaxy S2 has an 8-MP camera that shoots HD 1080P videos with HD playback and very good quality pictures, while the 2-MP camera on the front is used for video calling through mediums like Tango and Skype.

One the home screen, you can drag and drop different icons and have shortcuts, much like an iPhone, but you can also have widgets that are on your home screen that can update you without you having to go into any applications or websites. This phone has a lot of very cool features, like the voice recognition software that you can use for if you wanted to talk emails, Twitter and Facebook messages, or even text messages.

It incases a pretty good 1650 mAh battery and has applications that you can monitor the amount of battery you are using with the different programs you are running.

The Android Application Market, although smaller than the App Store for Apple, it has some great application that either replace or are duplicates compared to the iPhone.

Overall, a very good phone for if you are a business person, social media person, or you just want to take pictures and text your friends!
