Spending A Weekend Recharging With A Volvo XC40 Recharge
How do you spend your day recharging from the week? On days where I am spending it in the city, I like to go full artisanal. I took the 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge out to shop local, explore new spots, and enjoy a nice Sunday drive.

The 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge is a small, compact SUV that is actually all-electric. In a short summary, the Volvo XC40 Recharge has 335km of range, 402 hp, and only takes 40 minutes to charge from 0 to 80% of battery power. Impressive.

Volvo was nice enough to treat me to a nice Sunday afternoon drive of activities and places to visit all over the city. But as influencers and signs from home decor stores say, “but first, coffee”.
Fueling Up With Coffee | Neo Coffee Bar

I started my artisanal journey at Neo Coffee Bar on Frederick Street in Toronto to fuel up on my Iced Americano. After after the sweet caffeine hit, I was energized to have a great sunny Sunday. It was a good Iced Americano too.
First Stop: Heading To Bare Market

After feeling full of beans, I ventured out east before coming back west to close it out for the night. The second stop on my artisanal adventure is the Bare Market located on 1480 Danforth Avenue in Toronto. The Bare Market was every local and conscious person’s dream. Not only was it full of fresh food, pasta, fruit and even had a little café within it, they also had homeware, oils, creams, mason jars ready to be filled with environmentally-friendly toothpaste, and plenty more. I ended up enjoying some café items, getting some niche soaps, bamboo toothbrushes, and more.
Next Stop: The Detox Market | Downtown

After enjoying my time shopping homewares, it was time to enjoy some items that make my me-time that much better. I wanted to step up my bath and bodywork game and get something that brings my shower and morning routines to the next level. I parked the XC40 Recharge and walked over to The Detox Market, all the staff and patrons had some of the most hydrated skin and smallest pores I think I have ever seen and there was plenty of lovely aromas that change when you head around the room. There were oils, jade rollers, moisturizers, and age-defying cremes to choose from. I settled for shampoo, body wash, and coffee scrubbing facial soap that helps energize my mornings even more.
Last Stop: Brodflour | Liberty Village

After all of that shopping, I was pretty famished. I wanted to get something not only to enjoy for the day but something I can enjoy throughout the week ahead. So before heading home, I wanted some high-quality carbs. When that feeling develops, you can find me at Brodflour. Not only did a get I get a half-loaf of dense and flavourful rye bread mixed with delicious and recommended Jerusalem bagels. You had to part them a few times to toast them, but when you had a full and even toast.
Overall, the day was a lovely self-care filled with some of my favourite aspects of a weekend. The first, a beautiful car that was fun to run around the city with. The Volvo XC40 Recharge was great at avoiding bikers, lane changes, the quick city turns, and accelerating to the next street light. The small compact SUV was a fun car to drive and very easy to park close to these different locations around the city. The XC40 Recharge made it easy to enjoy the weekend drive.
And just like your smartphone at the end of the day, even though I had plenty of range for the next day, I just plugged the XC40 Recharge in a regular electric vehicle charger and I was good for the next day.
The Bottom Line
A lot of people enjoy leaving the city to recharge, but you know what, you can try new things, enjoy the good weather and try different spots that you never thought of around the city. Not only are you enjoying a great afternoon, but you are trying new places, meeting new people, and enjoying the best of what your city has to offer.
