Most of the Canadian market might be unfamiliar with White House | Black Market and that’s because it is an American born brand and was until now, unavailable to the rest of the world. Standing at 351 boutique and 24 outlet stores throughout the US, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands, the brand has certainly made it’s entrance into the market since its opening in 1985.

Starting out originally as The White House, a tiny women’s boutique offering only white and ivory apparel and accessories in Maryland and deciding to continue with the monochromatic theme, the owners decided to open up Black Market and combine the two.

The brand has now branched out to include all coloured offerings and great on trend basics with simple silhouettes to ensure complimentary figures to all wearers. The brands aesthetic is similar to the practicality of Old Navy combined with the style driven designs of H&M. The collections also offer great transferability, ensuring that the pieces will work with anybody’s already existing wardrobe and great style options to take you through the day into night.
