Hands-On With The Elegant Breitling Premier B25 Datora Triple Calendar Moonphase Chronograph
Some watchmakers get into a groove. They either take a successful model and make subtle changes to it, go back in time, or start something new with their lineup. A lot of watchmakers have a rich history to choose from. Some, going with a different colorway than the original much like the timepiece we are going to be referring to below, the Breitling Premier B25 Datora.
Breitling is one of those brands that have an incredibly rich history with watchmaking. The Breitling name has been around since 1884 and there are plenty of product lines to revisit.
One of the best and most beautiful watches that I have seen that is a modern classic is the Breitling Heritage Premier B25 Datora, which is a re-issue of the original hybrid triple calendar system, based on the model from the 1940s.
Enter The Breitling Premier B25 Datora
If you have ever started looking for a vintage Breitling, one thing you will notice is the price, then the condition, then the size. The price varies based on the rarity and condition but then you have most of these vintage watches laying a case size of 36-39mm. So, what do you do when you want that crisp newly designed, highly mechanically savvy wristwatch for your collection?
You look no further than the Breitling heritage line.
This beautiful Breitling, is the Breitling Premier B25 Datora is stately in a 42mm case size. The case is made out of both 18k Red Gold and Silver and it pays homage to the three generations of inventors: Léon, Gaston, and William Breitling.
The word ‘Datora’ is a term from Breitling in the 1940s that refers to a complete calendar chronograph.
This particular Breitling is one of their most refined yet. The timepiece just speaks softly and shows loudly in all the crafted details.
Through their extensive past, we are able to see they can easily go back in time, pick an all-encompassing watch, bring it to life in the modern day and push the complications of horology that much further.
It’s an elegant timepiece that can upgrade any outfit it is worn with and the 18K Red Gold makes it that much more wearable with a wardrobe instead of a bolder colour. It is something that can just easily fit right in.
The Arabic numerals, the vintage-style hands, open casebook, and moon-phase function, it’s something you can get lost in or will likely notice second or third looks to your wrist from onlookers.
Top it all off with a COSC-certified, Breitling B25 movement and you have quite the timepiece.
Some may feel that the like thickness might feel a bit too tall. However, I am fine with it knowing that you are getting a triple calendar movement with the watch.

The Bottom Line
It’s quite easily one of the most Breitling and un-Breitling timepieces at the same time, in my opinion.
The reason I say that is that you have all of these incredible sports and tool watches that are robust and rugged. Built for aviator missions and life-and-death situations and then you have these absolutely stunning, elegant timepieces alongside it.
It really goes to show you how much range the Breitling name has and a brand only with an incredible history that is something they can pull off.
Even if you do have a Breitling, and it’s a sport or tool watch, you have the ability to shop the range for a different occasion. A special occasion, something more dressed up or formal. Perhaps, even a milestone or wedding gift.
