It’s hard to ignore how much fun you would have, especially if you are riding in a big, hefty SUV passing one by. It’s also one of those cars that adds to the road trip experience. Instead of saying you drove up to Muskoka for the weekend, you say ‘I took the Mustang out for a ride up north’, it just sounds that much more exciting.

2/ The Ford Mustang GT Convertible Is Fun To Drive

Stepping foot and dropping down in the seat, you automatically feel a bit more of a race car driver than a grocery getter. The driver position puts you low, which helps with the driving experience of feeling faster and speedier in the corners. It’s also very fun to handle with lots of power and roar from the engine, every time you hit the accelerator. Whether you are just starting your trip or stuck in cottage traffic going north or south, it’s still great to be in a Mustang.

3/ The Passionate Mustang Community

The Mustang community is one of the most passionate car communities out there. I first witnessed this when I was driving the Ford Bullitt Mustang a few years ago. Every Mustang I passed, I either got a nod, a wave, a compliment or a question about the car at a stoplight. It’s almost like when you buy a Mustang, you are also buying into a big community of car lovers.

I have been looking for other communities in other sporty cars and I haven’t been able to find anything close on a daily basis. It’s a similar feeling to being on a boat in cottage country, where you are being acknowledged and waving back at other boats and people in town. It’s a fantastic feeling.

I feel like this is more self-explanatory, but I would like to reiterate, that convertibles are wonderful in the summer, especially this one. All of a sudden you go from enduring a boring commute to enjoying a fun ride. It changes your mindset about the whole going from ‘A-to-B’ situation and makes you forget out long the trip felt as well.

When you go through a tunnel, start it up in a busy place, or just accelerate to pass someone looking for the left-most lane, you have a lot of power, roar and rumble with you. It’s a fun feeling that puts a smile on your face even when you turn on the car and hear that initial rumble. You feel like it’s going to be a different kind of day when you start it up.
