Starting Out Our Quebec Journey In A 2020 Lincoln Aviator

When I was asked to test drive the new 2020 Lincoln Aviator, I was excited.

Now, when I was asked to test drive the new 2020 Lincoln Aviator in Quebec City, I was ecstatic!

First off, how beautiful is Quebec City? It’s one of my favourite cities in Canada for too many reasons to count. So, the opportunity to head over there, I cleared my calendar, made the arrangements and I took off to Quebec City.

After leaving the airport, the group that I met up with there were shuttled to the iconic Fairmont Château Frontenac, more on that on a later date.

Read on as I take you on the journey from Quebec City to Charlevoix with me.

Enter The 2020 Lincoln Aviator

The 2020 Lincoln Aviator chalked full of features and benefits. All of which we enjoyed hearing from Lincoln’s Product Plans Manager, Jim Rideout.

Everything from Lincoln’s Perfect Position Seats with over 30 ways to adjust your seat, to the massage mode on the seats (a personal favourite), to the adaptive cruise control that adjusts the speed you are going based on the road signs, and Lincoln’s new Air Suspension. They even have an aviation-inspired cabin with leather inspired from a bomber jacket material, brushed aluminum and some switches resembling what you would find in a cockpit. Too many to count. I couldn’t wait to try them on the road.

We drove through one of the oldest cities in Canada with smaller, tighter streets and beauty in the older buildings everywhere you looked. We drove under beautiful archways and alongside local boutiques that endlessly repeated until we drove outside of the city. The city opened up to us when we turned to hit the highway and it showed it’s entirely stunning beauty and wide-ranging colours.

We had to stop many times to enjoy and take in the scenery, everything was in technicolor it seemed. The Burgundy Velvet paint package seemed to contrast well with the vibrant, colourful background.

Enjoying the trip to Charlevoix, Quebec

We headed for lunch closer outside of Quebec City to Charlevoix at an Emu farm-to-table experience called, Centre de l’Émeu de Charlevoix.

At the restaurant, we had lunch and enjoyed a quieter town than we were used to, with beautiful scenery surrounding the farm.

After a great lunch, we went to the emu farm and learned more about the interesting and cute Australian imports.

We hit the road again to our final destination for the evening, the stately Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu tucked in around the corner from this small town.

After heading there and parking, we went up to our rooms, which contrasted the beautiful castle-like exterior and interior of the Le Manoir Richelieu with some beautiful, upscale and classic Fairmont room aesthetic.

I looked out the window towards the green turreted rooftops, waving waters and curved tree-lined driveways and took a moment of appreciation, while I was getting ready for dinner.

We had a lovely dinner that night at the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu with fine dining, lovely local wine, gin, vodka, and beer from the Charlevoix region, which complemented the food very well.

Great conversation ensued as we recapped our initial thoughts of the car and got to know people around the table.

The Bottom Line

To recap this first day, the word to describe the trip so far would be vibrancy.

What’s great about our first impressions about the 2020 Lincoln Aviator is that you don’t really have to think about the driving experience. You can be sitting back in your massage chairs, with music from the Revel Audio System filling the cabin, while the stunning and vibrant environment around you pours in through your windows, and you can just enjoy that. It’s like having a theatre seat to that type of beauty. You can also treat it like a car, enjoying the drive itself when you are waiting for nicer scenery.

Change the driving modes, hit the open road, and feel in complete control like you wanted to. Enjoy the stiffer suspension, faster feelings and noise from the engine from acceleration.

Stay tuned as we recap two more days of beautiful scenic views in the days to come.
