Add Some Boldness To Your Holiday Parties With Cigar Box Wines
I love South American wines for the complex, new-age kind of flavours and the incredible value that you can get. A $10 wine from Chile easily could compete with a wine that’s double and sometimes even triple that price. Somehow, South American wines are able to pack a big offering in such a well-priced package and I won’t even try to begin to understand the economics of it. Maybe it is time to consider, Cigar Box Wines for your next visit to your wine retailer.
I want to get the price discussion out of the way early on these wines just because I want you to focus on the actual aspects of the wine instead of the numerical value associated with them. Even if these wines were double their retail price, I feel like if you still want to buy them, then it almost cancels that aspect out. Now, that we have that out of the way, let’s get to the two wines we have here today.
Are you looking for some nice, smoky and boldly flavoured red wine for upcoming holiday parties?
Enter Cigar Box Wines
Cigar Box finds itself situated in Chile, deep in the Casablanca Valley wine region. They are hand-harvested wines that were inspired by the long and stately cigar-making process, the slower and more detailed look at the flavour and the enjoyment factor when having it. The wines also have a sense of smokiness, tobacco and grapes from old-vine vineyards. Consider it a timeless actor returning to a timeless role meant for them, but with a twist at the end to keep things exciting.
Even though they have their grapes from old vine vineyards, their methods and output are quite bold, conceptual and different, a good difference.

When to enjoy: The Pinot Noir for me, I am going to be a bit more selfish with it. This is the type of dish you want for your pork tenderloin, your filet mignon, your beef dishes, a dish that is the highlight of the meal. I am going to enjoy this with a book and the flavours and ruby colour make it very easy to enjoy. You can also bring it to one of the big holiday feasts and share it with others.
The Bottom Line
As you can see the Cigar Box Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect entertainment wine to kick things off during an evening or holiday party. The deep flavours complement very nicely with lighter fare while the Cigar Box Old Vine Pinot Noir compliments very well with the typically heavier meals around the holidays.
Be sure to pick a bottle up for yourself and for your loved ones this holiday and when you do, please enjoy responsibly.
